An English grocery chain has been in talks to possibly move into the Grass Valley Ford building on South Auburn Road. Economic Resource Council CEO Gil Matthew says the grocery chain is different than conventional supermarkets. None of the food that Fresh and Easy serves contains trans fats, and a complete dinner can be picked up for takeout. Matthew says the talks are in the preliminary stages and he doesn't know if the owner, Don Neronde, would sell or lease the building. When Grass Valley Ford relocates to Auburn early next year, it is unclear what would happen to the Nissan dealership that is currently housed with the Ford, Lincoln, Mercury dealer.
