People parking on Highway 20 on the 4th of July for the Nevada County Fairgrounds fireworks show will be cited and have their car towed. CHP area Commander, Chuck Whitaker, says special signs will be posted on Highway 20 near the fairgrounds prohibiting any stopping or parking.
“There’s a big event at the fairgrounds every year and it causes some parking problems on Highway 20 and we’ll be enforcing the no stopping on Highway 20 there, so you’ll have to park around the fairgrounds for that event.”
The concern is for the people parking on the highway, and then walking across a busy section of road at night. Fire fighters will be in the area issuing citations for people using any type of fire works.
