Placer County Sheriff's Deputies have arrested a man after he reportedly assaulted a woman in the Kings Beach area of Lake Tahoe early this morning. Detective Sergeant, Corie Quillinan, says shortly after midnight last night a 39-year-old woman was walking to a convenience store., "She says that Sergio Martinez and another gentleman, who she cannot identify at this point, grabbed her and tried to sexually assault her. She was able to break free, and at this point she goes into the store, contacts her husband, and the suspect is located and arrested."

Martinez is being held on 200-thousand dollars bail for suspicion of attempted kidnapping, attempted rape and threatening a crime. He is also on a immigration and customs enforcement hold, meaning he will not be released even if he is able to pay bail. The outstanding suspect is only described as a male. Sergeant Quillinan is asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or who has more information on it, to call the Placer County Sheriff's office at 530 581 6300.
