The Grass Valley City Council is scheduled for its regular meeting tomorrow (Tuesday) evening. Among items on the agenda is apublic hearing for proposal to modify the grant application funding a study of the alignment of sewer lines for the Loma Rica Ranch Special Development Area and for Industrial Zoned Properties on LaBarr Meadows Road. City Administrator Dan Holler says the city is preparing for future development in the area, "What's the best alignment for sewers. Again, how do we get out on the front end of this stuff, versus waiting until the developer shows up and says, 'Oh, by the way, here's what we think your sewer should look like." The council will also be considering approval of a proposed Downtown Streetscape Standards Manual. Holler says the city wants to standardize the apperance of such things as benches, trash cans, tables and light standars in the downtown area, "For us, it allows us to move forward with the next step, which is to start to actually implement some of the elements, i.e. updating the lighting through downtown. Right now we have three or four, or five different light poll standards out there. Can we bring kind of a common theme to that? And also, as new property owners come in to develop, or they want to upgrade their property, we want to say, 'Great, here is the standard we want you to use, these are in the downtown core.'" The council will also be considering the appointment of Dawn Bateman to fill the vacancy resulting from the resignation of Rey Johnson. In addition, the council will be considering the acceptance of easement deeds that will, ultimately, lead to the development of the Dorsey Drive Interchange. The council meeting begins at seven tomorrow night.
