Three Hundred and Forty-four women are registered as participants  for the Barbara Schmidt Millar Triathalon that will take place in Cascade Shores on Scotts Flat Lake this Sunday. Event Director, Cathy Anderson Meyers would like to remind boaters that the boat ramp on the Cascade Shores side of Scotts Flat Lake will be closed for the event.  The closure goes into effect at 2 p.m. Saturday and the boat ramp will reopen at 1 p.m. on Sunday, September 20th.  She says NID does this for the BSM Triathlon every year because the staging area and the swim portion of the event are conducted from the boat ramp and parking area.
   
 The triathlon raises money and awareness for Cancer and suppports medical scholarships and low cost mamograms for women who otherwise could not affort them.  Triathletes can still register for the event up to 2 pm Friday. and those who are doing just the 5 k run/walk can resiger for $25 the morning of the event.
