Nevada City Councilwoman Sally Harris today announced that she will be seeking re-election. Harris has served on the council since 2004. Harris says Nevada City is facing the same problem as most government agencies.
“Like a neighboring city and the county and all the other cities in California it’s the economy that we know at some point it’s got to turn up, but right now, we see revenues declining and we are trying to deliver services appropriately at the same time as planning for ever decreasing revenues.”
Harris points to certification of the city's housing element and the upgrade of the waste water treatment plant as major accomplishments of the council. The election is scheduled for June.
