Home | Local | The Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce Celebrates its Centennial

The Grass Valley/Nevada County Chamber of Commerce held its Centennial Celebration last night (Friday).  Chamber Executive Director, MaryAnn Mueller, says a great time was had by all, "We had many dignitaries present with proclamations given by Senator Sam Aanestad, and Kim Pruett from Congressman Tom McClintock's office, and the Mayor of Grass Valley, Lisa Swarthout, also presented the chamber with a proclamation."

Mueller says there was a large contingent of past chamber presidents at the celebration, "There were over 18 past presidents of the chamber who served as president of the board of directors, with Jack Cramer, who was president of the board in 1958.  He also sang the Star Spangled Banner."

Mueller says one of the highlights of the evening was a preview presentation by the Off Bradstreet Players of an original play called Waiting for Lola that will be presented in its entirety the end of the month.  Chamber Centennial celebrations will be continuing throughout the rest of this year.
