The highway patrol has confirmed that a motorcyclist was killed yesterday morning in a collision with a truck on Marysville Road at Moonshine Road near Camptonville. The collision was reported a little before ten yesterday morning. C-H-P Officer Dan Wright says a 73-year-old Brownsville man was riding a three-wheeled motorcycle Eastbound on Marysville Road and failed to stop for a flatbed truck as it was backing out of a driveway.
“It does appear that the motorcyclist did not see the truck ahead of him and failed to take any evasive action, such as braking or swerving. We’re still trying to determine the distance between the vehicles at the time. But the motorcycle collided with the right rear of the truck and traveled underneath the truck.”
Officer Wright says the motorcycle erupted in flames and the motorcycle rider suffered fatal injuries. The highway patrol is continuing their investigation into the collision.
