A local mother is in jail after choking a child and trying to destroy a police car. Nevada County Undersheriff Richard Kimbell says a 911 call prompted a response to a Little Valley Road home. Kimbell says 36 year old Danielle Lussier allegedly choked a child because the girl refused to push her hair away from her face. Lussier was arrested for suspicion of child abuse. When she arrived at the jail the situation got worse.
“She was taken into custody for willful harm or injury to a child. She was then transported to the jail, and while at the jail, the suspected decided to kick out a window in the patrol car, which she did, and the glass shattered on top of one of the correctional officers outside the window.”
The Under Sheriff says there was no danger of the woman escaping. The child was placed in foster care. Nevada County will be charging Lussier with vandalism to the patrol car and will attempt to recover the cost of the window.
